Named after the Jazz singer who overcame childhood poverty and racism to become one of the most famous jazz artists of all time, comes this hand stitched midi dress that celebrates colour and craft in every stitch. Made from a navy needlecord redolent of the inky plumage of a swallow's tail, the dress features a mandarin collar, front button placket and slim fit a-line silhouette; these sleek understated details are perfectly balanced by a show stopping colour blocked frill tier and matching blaze of smocking stitches in a glorious muted orange we call 'burnt sugar'. The smocking panel features a brand new stitch design "Ladder" which offers a modern reworking of traditional pastoral smocks. Sizing
Size S is designed to fit a UK size 6-8 / US size 2-4 it measures 127cm from the shoulder to the bottom hem and will fit chest 82 - 90cm, Sleeve measures 70cm from shoulder to bottom of cuff.
Size M is designed to fit a UK size 10 - 12 /US size 6-8: it measures 131cm from the shoulder to the bottom hem and will fit chest 90 - 98cm. Sleeve measures 72cm from shoulder to bottom of cuff.
Size L is designed to fit a UK size 14 - 16 / US size 10-14: it measures 135cm from the shoulder to the bottom hem and will fit chest 98 - 109cm. Sleeve measures 74cm from shoulder to bottom of cuff.
Due the way our hand smocked pieces are pleated and sewn, our clothes offer a very versatile fit - there is natural stretch in all hand pleated smocks. For this reason we offer fewer, bridge sizes. This means more room for growth and less waste.

Kid's Fit
In general our girl's fit is “Classic British” meaning dresses are designed to hit just below the knee and blouses sit at the lower waist level. At the beginning of the age range dresses will reach to mid calf; at the upper end of the range they will hit above the knee.
Most of our styles will comfortably fit your child beyond the age range specified: elasticated sleeves, tie straps and sashes allow you get as much as possible from each outfit. Better for you and better for the planet.

Smock London delivers to the all areas of the United Kingdom. Standard delivery is free for orders over £100. For orders under £100 delivery is £4.95 (Standard delivery) and £9.50 for Express delivery.
We also deliver internationally and shipping is calculated automatically at the checkout.
We offer delivery to the USA with either a postal service (approx 10 days) or a faster courier service with DHL (approx 5 days). Delivery to the USA is FREE for orders over $200.
