Octavia Hill Dress Blue Ribbons with Summer Skies Hand Smocking
For women with grand designs.
Named after the pioneering thinker and social reformer, Octavia Hill who founded the National Trust in the UK, comes a hand smocked frock that lifts the spirit with every flounce and frill.
Made from a wealth of pale blue cotton embellished with the daintiest cerulean ribbons, the dress is grounded in the two pillars of Octavia's lifework, a sense of optimism and joy for all. Centre stage is the joyful blaze of zigzag hand smocking all around the bodice composed of individually stitched seven step trellis stitches in blue and white threads matching the bows in the fabric. The uplifting silhouette is further enhanced by the dramatic double frill straps edged with a white ric rac trim that will put a spring in the step of wearer and admirer alike.
And because Octavia's cause is as democratic as it is joyful, the dress features pockets, an elasticated bodice and fully adjustable straps for a perfect fit across different body shapes.
