Introducing 'The Hedgerow Circus', our New Autumn/Winter Collection
As the shadows lengthen and the leaves turn, Smock London presents ‘The Hedgerow Circus’ – a rich cornucopia filled with the hidden magic of autumn: dusky florals, warm berry ginghams, rosehip corduroys and hazelnut linens, sprinkled with hand stitches in every shade of nature’s rainbow from rose gold to hawthorn, sweet chestnut to majestic magenta.
This is the world of our sumptuous new AW22 collection: a visual spectacular bursting with rich jewel tones, glorious textures, daintiest details and superlative craftsmanship. Conventionally Autumn is a time when the lights go down and the colours fade away, but for us Autumn is a time when nature’s most ravishing rainbow comes out to play: the trees and hedgerows are filled with russets, yellows, golds, oranges, pinks and reds. Nature is aglow with the richness of the changing season from which our collection takes its cue.
Its been so wonderful to have many conversations with you all during the year and this collection represents the fruition of all those precious pearls of inspiration: we are thrilled to feature an organic Liberty of London print: Claire Aude, our richly smocked winter cuffs are back by popular demand, our bestselling Pavlova dress makes its winter debut with long sleeves, frill cuffs and sensational sparkly smocking and we have expanded our baby range with a cute-as-you-like collection of long sleeve handsmocked rompers and blouse and bloomer sets.
This collection also offers a luscious leap forward in our bestselling Womenswear range. After so many messages about new women’s styles, we are joyously happy to share two new women’s hand smocked blouses, plus three new Limited Editions of our Betsy Fry blouse. Leading ladies, Mary Wollstonecraft and Sophie Scholl join our AW line up: Mary Wollstonecraft was one of the first feminist thinkers and her namesake blouse is as feminine and hands-on as she would wish with a swing A-line shape and delicately smocked frill collar; next comes the Scholl Blouse, named after the German anti-nazi resistance leader, this style offers a super flattering structure with a square shoulder, richly smocked neckline and high frill collar and cuffs.
A huge thanks to every single person who has helped bring this collection into technicolour life: the makers, the models, the photographers, the posties, the customers, the followers - each and every one, a critical stitch in the rich tapestry that makes this collection, when you step back and see them all together its a magical sight.
Thank You xxx
