Named after the prison reformer Betsy Fry, who fought for the rights and protection of female inmates, this is a blouse for warm hearts and brave souls. Set to work in style with its stunning central smocked panel featuring trellis stitch triangles in softest cornflower blue. Made from a lightweight blue spot plumetti cotton, it features an elegant a-line shape, generous frill collar and frilled, smocked cuffs - all edged with handworked cross stitching in cornflower threads. A showstopper on its own, the frilled collar and cuffs work beautifully layered with a cardi, for fabulous style no matter where your fighting spirit takes you!
This is Limited Edition No.16, of our Betsy Fry blouses and stock is limited. Each edition is a one of a kind design, made by hand in limited numbers. As a handmade item there may be tiny variations between pieces.

Size S is designed to fit UK size 6-10 / US size 2-6: It measures 34cm along the smocking seam; 52cm from top to bottom of button placket on the front and will fit chest 82 - 89cm

Size M is designed to fit UK size 12-14 / US size 8-10: It measures 36cm along the smocking seam; 55cm from top to bottom of button placket on the front and will fit chest 90 - 99cm.

Size L is designed to fit UK size 16-18 / US size 12-14: It measures 38cm along the smocking seam; 58cm from top to bottom of button placket on the front and will fit chest 100 - 105cm.

Due the way our hand smocked pieces are pleated and sewn, our clothes offer a very versatile fit - there is natural stretch in all hand pleated smocks. For this reason we offer fewer, bridge sizes. This means more room for growth and less waste.

In general our girl's fit is “Classic British” meaning dresses are designed to hit just below the knee and blouses sit at the lower waist level. At the beginning of the age range dresses will reach to mid calf; at the upper end of the range they will hit above the knee.
Most of our styles will comfortably fit your child beyond the age range specified: elasticated sleeves, tie straps and sashes allow you get as much as possible from each outfit. Better for you and better for the planet.

Smock London delivers to the all areas of the United Kingdom. Standard delivery is free for orders over £100. For orders under £100 delivery is £4.95 (Standard delivery) and £9.50 for Express delivery.
We also deliver internationally and shipping is calculated automatically at the checkout.
We offer delivery to the USA with either a postal service (approx 10 days) or a faster courier service with DHL (approx 5 days). Delivery to the USA is FREE for orders over $200.

All overseas orders are shipped duties unpaid, therefore orders shipped outside of the UK may be subject to VAT, customs taxes and duties.
